Microsoft Outlook Stops Receiving New Messages

So I’ve got this issue where Outlook stops receiving new messages. Often times I notice this in the morning and I suspect that at some point during the night that Outlook has lost connectivity to the Exchange server and then was never able to re-establish it. Closing the Outlook application and re-starting it doesn’t help remedy the issue. Until now, I’ve had to restart my workstation in order to be able to re-establish a connection to the server. However, I found a fix today. If I go under “File” and toggle “Work Offline” to true, then go back under “File” and toggled “Work Offline” to false it will successfully re-establish the connection and download your updated mail. This issue and fix has been tested with Outlook 2007.
